After three months of daytime dryness, I had an accident today. It happened in public, but fortunately not while I was at work.
Big Brother said my training pants did their job. They’re not supposed to contain accidents completely, just control them enough that I won’t leak all over everything if I change right away. Right after the accident (photo 1), my training pants were soaked, but there was only a small wet spot on my jeans. The wetness didn’t really show until I was close to home (photo 2).
I asked Big Brother if this means I have to go back to diapers. He said it’s my choice. I’ve kept my pants dry long enough that he thinks I deserve another chance at being a “big boy” in training pants and eventually regular underwear if that is what I want. If I think today’s accident means I’ve flunked toilet training, and if I don’t feel safe going out in public without protection, he will put me back in diapers….and both my “big boy” underwear and my training pants will go in the trash.
I have to admit that I’m scared about having an accident at work. I’m tempted to give up on my potty training and accept that I need diapers 24/7. But I don’t want to lose all hope of getting my big boy underwear back. I’m going to give the training pants one more try.
